VOLUNTEERING WITH COOKING FOR HOPE

Cooking for Hope is a local nonprofit project founded in 2016 by our current HIWC President, Juliah Rais-Morres. Since 2018, our club has actively supported the charity’s mission to assist refugees and unaccompanied minors by volunteering at its food stand during special events and donating essential household items.

Our members contribute by helping with catering services at fundraising events in Heidelberg and participating in monthly cooking sessions at the Caritas refugee shelter in Hardtstrasse, Heidelberg-Kirchheim.

In March 2024 and February 2025, HIWC covered the cost of used bicycles for young residents of the refugee shelter in Henkel-Teroson-Strasse, Heidelberg-Pfaffengrund, providing them with much-needed mobility.
